How to Prepare the 2Create for Powder Change

The following steps outline how to prepare the 2Create Metal 3D Printer for a powder change from non-reactive to reactive materials. For a detailed demonstration of the process, feel free to check out our video tutorial.

1. Remove Non-Reactive Powder:

  • Turn off the machine. Empty the reservoir, clear the build platform, and drain the overflow. Move the pistons up/down and use a vacuum to remove remaining powder.

2. Pipe Cleaning:

3. Clean the Chamber:

  • Wipe down the chamber with a rag and cleaning alcohol.

4. Change Filters:

Replace the exhaust, pre-, and main filters:

  • Open the door, release clasps, unscrew screws, remove grounding cables.
  • Pull out and replace filters.

5. Reassemble the Machine:

  • Ensure the main filter’s rubber side faces the machine. Reattach screws and close the door.

Following these steps ensures your 2Create printer is safely prepared for reactive materials, reducing contamination risk and supporting consistent, high-quality prints.
